Jenn Bohn - Co-President
Jennifer, a Cedar Rapids native, and her husband, Lee, have two children in the Linn-Mar school district. Big brother Tristan is nine and Melia, his biggest fan, is seven. Tristan has multiple medical diagnoses. He moved from a diagnosis of Autism to PDD, NOS at the age of five. Tristan has definitely walked a long and difficult road to date, but, with tremendous courage, he is now thriving and enjoying life. Jenn and Lee have been on this journey long before they became parents. Both struggled with attention and processing from a very young age. After undergrad, they reacquainted working for an organization that provided services for people with severe disabilities. Lee stayed with this company for almost twenty years while Jenn moved on to work in hospital and home care positions until completing her masters in occupational therapy. Working primarily in behavioral health and pediatrics, she has had the unique experience of caring for people with autism from both the personal and professional perspectives.
"It brings so much peace and joy to our hearts to see Tristan finally enjoying his childhood. Until connecting with ECIAS, it was hard to believe this could ever be possible. Out of isolation and hopelessness we found an invaluable network of resources, opportunities and support, the kind that only seems possible from people who have an intimate connection with autism." |

Debbie Robinson - Media Specialist
I am the very proud Aunt of my sister’s two sons who are both on the Autism Spectrum. They are two years apart and even though both may share similar aspects of autism, they also struggle with their own individual challenges. Some things work and some don’t. It is trial and error or it may even be try again later. It is with the love and support from family and friends that they are doing great and making strides.
I became involved with the East Central Iowa Autism Society’s local chapter a few years ago to help out with their first fundraising walk by making up some brochures and posters. Today, I am very involved by helping in any way I can and also by serving as a fellow Board Member and Media Specialist.
